Executive Chairman

Dr Adir Shiffman, Executive Chairman of Catapult, has extensive CEO and board experience across a number of technology companies. 

Adir’s expertise lies in providing assistance in relation to the development of strategic plans; providing strategic advisory services, including with respect to mergers and acquisitions and restructuring; and working with senior management of Catapult to execute those plans. 

Adir currently sits on a number of boards, including as the Non-Executive Chairman of ASX-listed Disruptive Investment Group Limited (ASX: DVI), the founder and Non-Executive Chairman of Global Reviews and the founder and Non-Executive Chairman of 

Adir graduated from Monash University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery. Prior to becoming involved in the technology sector, he practised as a doctor.

Global Head of Strategy

Mr Shaun Holthouse is a co-founder, Chief Executive Officer and an executive Director of Catapult. 

He has been responsible for creating and developing Catapult’s business plan, sourcing seed funding, negotiating the technology licence and the subsequent purchase of Catapult’s foundation technology from the Commonwealth Co-operative Research Centre (CRC). 

Shaun managed early stage sales, established Catapult’s early distribution network and has grown the Catapult team to more than 60 people across 4 offices worldwide. Shaun oversees Catapult’s senior management team and its Australian, US and European operations, as well as the integration of GPSports. 

Prior to co-founding Catapult, Shaun was a Technology Development Manager for the CRC for microtechnology from 2002-2006, which included providing technical direction to a research program of more than 20 projects and with a budget of more than $60 million. Shaun holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from the University of Melbourne.

Chief Technology Officer

Mr Igor van de Griendt is a co-founder, Chief Technology Officer and an executive director of Catapult. 

In his capacity as CTO, he has been responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership in the development of Catapult’s products, both in the analytical space, as well as with respect to Catapult’s various hardware offerings. 

Igor also provides guidance and operational support to Catapult’s R&D and software development teams. 

Prior to co-founding Catapult, Igor was a Project Manager for the CRC for microtechnology which, in collaboration with the Australian Institute of Sport, developed a number of sensor platforms and technologies ultimately leading to the founding of Catapult. 

Prior to joining the CRC for microtechnology, Igor was a director of
a consulting business that provided engineering services for more than
13 years to technology companies such as Redflex Communications Systems (now part of Exelis, NYSE:XLS), Ceramic Fuel Cells (ASX:CFU), Ericsson Australia, NEC Australia and Telstra. 

Igor holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Darling Downs Institute of Advanced Education (now University of Southern Queensland).

Non-Executive Director

Mr Calvin Ng has significant investment banking, mergers & acquisitions and funds management experience. 

Calvin is a co-founder and Managing Director of Aura Capital Group, an independent corporate advisory and funds management business. He is also a co-founder and Non-Executive Director of the Finsure Group. 

Calvin has significant board experience in a number of businesses, with particular expertise in providing management oversight and strategic guidance to small and medium sized enterprises. 

Calvin currently sits on a number of boards, including entities associated with the Aura Capital Group, Finsure Group, ASX-listed Disruptive Investment Group Limited (ASX:DVI) and 

Calvin holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws from the University of New South Wales. Calvin has also completed a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and has been admitted to practice as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of New South Wales.

Non-Executive Director

Mr Brent Scrimshaw has over 25 years of experience in consumer innovation, business leadership and brand management, which he has been gained
by acting in several roles for Nike that were focused on the athletic and sports industry. 

Brent has held several senior management roles at Nike Inc, including Vice President and Chief Executive of Western Europe; Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of Category Businesses for Nike Europe, Middle East and Africa; and General Manager of Nike’s East Coast United States business. 

As one of Nike Inc’s 30 most senior leaders worldwide, Brent has also served as part of Nike’s Global Corporate Leadership Team, where he helped lead the creation of Nike’s overall global operating strategy, as well as playing a senior role as a key member of the Global Commercial Operations Executive team, which is responsible for sales and distribution strategies worldwide. 

Brent is currently a Non-Executive Director at Fox Head Inc, a technical motocross & consumer products brand, as well as Rhinomed Ltd (ASX:RNO) a medical technology company focused on enhancing human efficiency through innovative respiratory technologies and products. 


James Orlando

Independent Non-Executive Director

Over the past 25 years Mr James Orlando has held senior finance positions driving growth and shareholder value in the United States, Asia and Australia.

Most recently he was Chief Financial Officer of Veda Group Ltd (VED.ASX) leading the company through its successful $1.05 billion IPO in December 2013. Jim subsequently managed the highly successful takeover offer of Veda by a US purchaser for $2.6 billion in February 2016.

Before joining Veda, Jim was the CFO of AAPT where he focused on improving the company's earning, as well as divesting its non-core consumer business. He also served as the CFO of PowerTel Ltd, an ASX-listed telecommunications service provider which was sold to Telecom New Zealand in 2007. Jim also held various international treasury positions at AT&T and Lucent Technologies in the US and Hong Kong including running Lucent's international project and export finance organisation.

Jim holds a BS degree from Cornell University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in the US. He also served on the Advisory Board of the US Export-Import Bank.




 Joe Powell

Chief Executive Officer

Mr Joe Powell has extensive experience managing and operating multinational businesses in the technology sector.

Most recently Joe was Managing Director of SEEK Education where he oversaw various education businesses including SEEK Learning, CATHO Education in Brazil, JobStreet Learning in Malaysia, OCC Education in Mexico and Online Education Services (Swinburne Online).

Joe also spent six years as Managing Director of SEEK Employment, responsible for the day-to-day management of SEEK’s core Online Employment business in Australia and New Zealand, including overseeing the sales, marketing, product, customer service, operations and IT teams. Prior to SEEK, Joe spent 11 years at Optus in various management roles, after starting his career as an accountant at PwC.

Joe also has significant board experience and is a current director of the Richmond Football Club and Migration Council Australia, and more recently a director of Online Education Services and IDP Education.

Joe is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, has completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and holds a BCom from the University of Tasmania.



matt bairos

Chief Executive Officer, XOS Digital

Mr Matt Bairos is an accomplished industry and technology leader leveraging 15+ years of sales, product marketing and client service experience at various organisations, both public and private.

Matt was promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer of XOS Digital in 2013 following roles as Executive Vice President - Team Technologies, Vice President and General Manager of Digital Coaching Technologies, Vice President of Products and Services, Director of Product Marketing, Client Services Manager, and Senior Client Service Specialist.

Matt has dedicated his professional life to the sports technology industry, beginning on the support team with Avid Sports in the early 2000s, and working his way up to oversee the development and growth of XOS' market-leading products.

Matt earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Salem State University and currently resides in Andover, MA, with his wife Audra and daughter Ella.

Chief Operating Officer

Mr Barry McNeil is Catapult’s Chief Operating Officer, based in the Melbourne headquarters. 

Prior to joining Catapult, Barry spent 13 years at Prozone Sports, where he served as Managing Director, Business Development Director and Head of Consultancy. In this role, Barry has gained significant experience in, and understanding of, the sports analytics industry. While at Prozone, Barry also developed consultancy roles with FIFA, UEFA, the England National Football Team, Manchester United, Arsenal, Ajax and Real Madrid. 

Barry also established a strategic consulting and advisory business, BPM Performance Ltd, through which he undertook Non-Executive Director, Advisory and Executive Coaching roles. 

Barry is also a Non-Executive Director at British Gymnastics and is also a member of a number of advisory boards within the sports technology sector. 

Barry is a chartered director with the Institute of Directors, holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology and is a practising UEFA B Licence football coach.

President - North America

Mr Brian Kopp is Catapult’s President for North America. 

Brian is a well-known sports executive with significant industry experience working with teams on emerging technologies. He was named a 2013 Idea Innovator by Sports Business Journal. 

Prior to joining Catapult, Brian served as Senior Vice President of Sports Solutions for Stats LLC. Brian was responsible for new business development including the revolutionary SportVU player tracking technology which is installed in all 29 NBA venues. 

Brian previously served as Senior Director of Strategic Planning for Career Education, one of the world’s largest for-profit education companies. He was also Manager of Corporate Development for NAVTEQ Corporation. 

Brian received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and his BA in Economics from Wabash College.

Chief Commercial Officer

Formerly, as Executive Vice President of Web Brand Networks, Mr Steve Power oversaw all aspects of's sales, client services, marketing, product & engineering, strategic business development, finance, talent management and operations for multi-location businesses. Previously, Steve was President of Yodle Brand Networks. acquired Yodle in 2016.

Before joining Yodle, Steve was the President of Bigcommerce, a SaaS ecommerce platform for over 100,000 established and emerging brands across the world. Prior to that, Steve was with ReachLocal, a digital marketing company, where his positions included Chief Sales Officer, Executive Vice President – Global Sales Operations, Founder and CEO of ReachLocal Australia. Among other things, Steve led a large global sales team at ReachLocal that generated over a half billion dollars in annual revenue across 15 countries. He was part of the team that listed the company on the NASDAQ.

Steve has extensive executive leadership experience in rapidly building successful high growth global companies in marketing, technology and e-commerce. Steve received a B. Comm. in Business and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Melbourne in Australia. He is also a former officer in the Australian Army.


Shane Greenan

Chief Financial Officer
Shane Greenan is an experienced CFO with a background in technology-driven growth companies. He has held roles as executive and non-executive Director for both publicly listed and private equity-backed companies, in addition to roles in the finance profession and venture capital.
Most recently Shane was CFO of Keycorp Limited, commencing when the company was ASX-listed and then guiding its acquisition by the Archer Growth Fund in December 2010. Shane continued in the CFO role at Keycorp under private equity ownership, contributing to Keycorp's successful growth and exit in a trade sale to the Bambora Group in May 2014.
Shane has extensive international experience, and prior to his role at Keycorp he played a key role in the listing of TripleArc plc on London's Alternative Investment Market (AIM) in December 2001, and the successful sale of vielife Limited to Cigna in December 2006.
Shane holds a BA Accounting Degree from the University of Ulster, an MBA from Melbourne Business School and is a fellow member of Chartered Accountants Ireland.


Benoit Simeray

CEO, Consumer
Benoit Simeray is Chief Executive Officer for the consumer division within the Catapult Group, overseeing all sales, marketing and operations related to translating Catapult’s leading solution for elite sports into a winning suite of wearable technology products and services for a global consumer audience.
Benoit was previously Vice President of Global Sales at consumer wellness technology firm Jawbone, responsible for sales, sales operations and channel marketing across a platform spanning some 50 countries.
Prior to Jawbone, he spent almost 10 years at TomTom in senior executive sales, product and engineering functions. As an early employee at TomTom, Mr Simeray was instrumental in helping the group grow annual revenues from two million euros to almost 1.5 billion euros in six years, with more than 4,000 staff at its peak. He was also responsible for establishing the Fitness business unit of TomTom, which today is its fastest-growing consumer unit.
