Can NFL teams predict and prevent injuries?

Fansided

The first Sunday of the NFL regular season was marked by a slew of devastating injuries to big-name players. Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs is out with a ruptured Achilles; Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant broke his foot; Jaguars left tackle Luke Joeckel was seen on crutches after his game; and, Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton banged up his knee.

The injury rate in professional football is near 100%. If you play regularly, you will get hurt. Wouldn’t it be convenient if teams could predict the likelihood of injuries to key players?
