Catapult’s US team has outgrown its Atlanta office and headed west to where everything is bigger: Texas.
Now based in downtown Dallas, overlooking American Airlines Center – home of client the Dallas Mavericks – Catapult have seen exponential growth in the US in the past 18 months as its team of sport scientists successfully demonstrate the increased importance of athlete analytics to coaches that are reaping the benefits of monitoring athlete performance.
To help manage its growing community of users in North America, Catapult has recently introduced two Sports Performance Managers to assist teams in the identification of contextual analytics to improve performance outcomes – Ben Peterson and Roderick Moore Jr.
Catapult Director of Sports Performance, Gary McCoy, knows the importance of having the right people to address Catapult’s valued clients.
“The key thing for Catapult USA is that we are building a marketplace – not just a team,” McCoy said.
“For that reason, we needed to employ individuals that could effectively diagnose and communicate contextual analytics across US sports.
“These are unchartered waters, and to deploy the skillsets of Roderick Moore and Ben Peterson raises Catapult to a new level of science, innovation and customer service.”
Ben has a PhD in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from the University of Minnesota, where he went on to be a Strength and Conditioning Intern and Graduate Research Assistant. He has also previously worked at P3 Athlete Consulting and was the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for MLB’s Minnesota Twins.
Ben has had several peer-reviewed research papers published and is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the American College of Sports Medicine.
Roderick has his M.S in Human Performance and Sport Studies and is a former Varsity Letterman in football and track and field at Morehouse College. He was the Associate Head Strength Coach at the University of Tennessee before moving to Florida International University for roles as Director of Strength and Conditioning and the Head Football Strength Coach.
More recently, Roderick was a Pro Sales Representative at Cybex and the Direct Sales Manager at BILT by Agassi and Reyes – strength-training equipment engineered by tennis great Andre Agassi and his elite fitness trainer, Gil Reyes.
“Like all of our clients who work hard to find the right talent to create a world-class team, so too were the efforts of Catapult in finding Ben and Roderick,” McCoy said.
“Further good news for Catapult is… this is just the beginning.”
