Catapult agree performance collaboration with FIFA World Champions France

Catapult is excited to announce a landmark collaboration with current FIFA World Champions, the Fédération Française de Football (FFF).

The agreement will see over 100 Catapult athlete monitoring devices used by the French national teams that the FFF is responsible for. This includes the senior men’s and women’s teams, as well as ‘B’ teams and age-group squads.

As the world leader in elite sports performance solutions, Catapult provides technology to over 1,800 teams around the world. Football teams in more than 80 countries trust Catapult to deliver precise, sport-specific insights and analytics, with the FFF becoming one of the latest organisations to use the technology to support the development of team and player performance.

The FFF has been gradually implementing the technology for several months, with the senior men’s team using Catapult athlete monitoring technology both in the build-up to and during their successful 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign.

The agreement will see Catapult technology used within the FFF Performance Centre, due to be opened at the Clairefontaine national football centre in 2020. Designed to act as a central location for sports science research and innovation, the Performance Centre will enable the FFF to develop knowledge and solutions that benefit teams at all levels of French football.

Pauline Gamerre, Director of Business Development at FFF, said: “We are delighted to be able to work with Catapult as a member of the FFF Performance Centre. Catapult’s experience and the effectiveness of their solutions make them a leader in their field and we are looking forward to working together to put the best technologies and cutting-edge sports science at the heart of the Performance Centre.”

Joe Powell, CEO at Catapult, said: “At Catapult we are committed to working with like-minded organisations to build and improve the performance of athletes and teams. The FFF are an organisation that continually demonstrate an impressive commitment to performance innovation, something that has been further underlined by the success of their teams on the field. We’re very excited to be working with the FFF and look forward to supporting their sports science and performance initiatives over the coming years.”

Karl Hogan, Commercial Director at Catapult, said: “French football is on the crest of a wave and we are proud to have supported the national team during their recent World Cup triumph. Like Catapult, the FFF is constantly seeking to innovate and drive performance to new heights, so we’re delighted to be working with the federation at this exciting point in its history.”
