Catapult reaches milestone of 2,500 clients
Catapult recently reached the milestone of 2,500 clients using its sports performance technology around the world.
The business has grown rapidly since Australian football team Hawthorn FC signed as its first client in 2007, now working with organisations in 39 sports across 135 countries.
Among those 2,500 clients are 150 national teams (98 of which are in football), including the 2018 FIFA World Cup winners France, Wales Rugby Union, and Cricket Australia.
Some highlights from those 2,500 signings include:
- 40 ClearSky installations around the world
- 506 clients that use video products - either XOS Digital or the recently-launched Catapult Vision
- 945 clients in North America alone
- 185 high schools around the world use Catapult
- Football is the dominant sport with 1,111 clients globally, with American football (244), rugby (216) and ice hockey (215) the next most popular sports
The business has also signed a number of federation and league-wide deals in recent months. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) recently agreed a deal to provide Catapult technology to all 54 of its member associations. Similarly, the National Rugby League (NRL) has chosen the business to supply performance solutions to NRL and NRLW clubs as well as Australian representative teams and match officials.
Catapult’s Executive Chairman, Adir Shiffman, is extremely motivated by the milestone but knows there is a lot of growth opportunity ahead.
“Having invented the product category of elite wearable technology for elite team sport, we’ve had the benefit of first-mover advantage. As we’ve grown and developed, so has our total addressable market, so as we build out sport’s first full-stack performance technology solution, the number of teams seeking this solution is growing at the same rate. We also feel like we have the momentum going to reach 5000 at a much faster rate than we did 2500”.
Established as the world’s leading provider of athlete monitoring technologies, Catapult continues to work closely with its clients as the business further diversifies the solutions it offers to an increasing number of sports teams around the world.
